Eva Tiensuu Janson, MD, is a Professor of Medicine at Uppsala University and senior consultant in endocrine oncology at Uppsala University Hospital. She serves currently as the Dean of the Medical Faculty at Uppsala University. She is also the chair of the Nordic Neuroendocrine Tumor Group since more than 10 years and was elected as a member of ENETS advisory board in 2015 and the executive committee in 2016. She is further active in the Swedish group for endocrine abdominal tumors and has participated in the development of a national caring program for abdominal neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and is currently involved in the development of a national quality registry for NETs. 

In 1995 she obtained Ph.D. on the subject of small intestinal neuroendocrine tumors (SI-NETs). 

She has published about 100 papers in the area of neuroendocrine tumors. Her research interest is tumor biology and genetics behind development of neuroendocrine tumors, with a focus on hereditary SI-NETs. She has also participated in many clinical trials. Recently, the Nordic Neuroendocrine Tumor Group has focused on the highly malignant G3 neuroendocrine neoplasms and this has become a new field of interest for her. 

Professor Tiensuu Janson is very active in arranging scientific meetings and educational activities in the NET area with a special focus on young scientists and clinicians.
