She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Wroclaw Medical University in 1975. In 1979 obtained the first degree of specialization, and in 1982 – the second degree of specialization in pediatrics. She also has a specialization in hematology and pediatric oncology (2002), palliative care (2004), clinical transplantation (2004) and clinical immunology (2004). In 1979 she received a PhD degree, and in 1994 – the doctor habilitated degree. In 1999 she was promoted to associate professor, and in 2003 she received the title of professor.
Since 1975 she has cooperated with the Wroclaw Medical University as doctor and lecturer. She worked at a General Pediatrics Clinic and the Marrow Transplant, Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Clinic (formerly Children’s Hematology and Proliferation Diseases Clinic). Since 2000 she has been the director of a marrow transplant clinic.
Chairwoman of Polskie Towarzystwo Pediatryczne (Polish Pediatrics Society), member of the executive board of Polskie Towarzystwo Onkologii, Hematologii i Onkologii Dziecięcej (Polish Oncology, Hematology and Pediatric Oncology Society). She holds a seat on the executive board of Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy in Wrocław and Institute of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine in Warsaw. She is a member of executive boards of several foundations helping children with health problems.
