Nora Benhabiles, PhD, EMBA, is the Director of the Industrial Partnerships and External Collaborations of the Fundamental Research Division in CEA (French Atomic Energy Agency). She is member of the supervisory board of EIT Health representing the French EIT Health academics and member of the board of CEA Investment funds.
She previously managed the health program in the French Atomic Energy Agency, in the CEA List Institute and in parallel, in 2015, she was the Innovation Director ad interim of the EIT HEALTH (http://eit.europa.eu/eit-community/eit-health). Among former positions in Europe, she was head of the Bioinformatics and ICT Department in a Biotech developing drugs for cardiovascular related diseases (FR), Visiting Professor of Biomedicine in the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven (BE), and Researcher in threading methods, artificial intelligence methods, and force fields applied to protein folding and DNA structure in the University of Salzburg (AU) and in INSERM (FR).
She is expert for the European Commission (Health, Environment – FP7, H2020) and for the French National Research Agency (ANR) (vice-president of the PRT-S 2014-2017; chair ANR emergence 2012, LabCom, former Vice-President of the ICT and health Board of the interclusters “Medicen Systematic and Cap-Digital”, VP of the “santé numérique” of the Medicen cluster and, Associate Editorial Board member of BMC Genomics.
She coordinates the FLAG-ERA project ITFoC (IT future of cancer) and she is involved in the FET flagship CSA proposal DIGITWINS as co-coordinator.
