Iwona Iwanicka

M.Sc. in physics, PhD in chemistry, postgraduate studies on health promotion. Since 1992 she has been working in the Department of Health of the Łódź City Office, for the past 5 years as a deputy director. She initiated activities in an area of health promotion, health education and prevention of diseases on a city level in Łódź. At present she is responsible for health promotion, prevention of addictions (alcohol, drugs) and violence, activities stimulating and supporting active ageing on the city level.
She is also involved in Healthy Cities movement in Poland since 1992. She cooperates with WHO Office for Europe as a Healthy City coordinator in Łódź and as a President of the Polish Healthy Cities Association (national network of Healthy Cities).
