Nienke Schutte is the Head of the EU Health Information System unit at Sciensano. She holds a PhD degree in behavioural genetics. In 2018, she started working at Sciensano, focusing on facilitating the exchange of health information across Europe in a FAIR manner by leading and participating in major European projects in health information, to support population health research and evidence-informed policy-making, such as PHIRI – a sustainable pan-European research infrastructure for population research, the HealthData@EU Pilot study – piloting the EHDS infrastructure for the secondary use of health data, and EU-HIP – facilitating integration of national IT systems with the HERA IT platform.
